Who invented the ballpoint pen and when?
Generally it is accepted that Ladislas Biro invented the balllpoint pen in Hungary in 1935. It was not very successful until after World War 2. The great success started in October 1945 when Gimbel�s department store in New York, fuelled by advertising, sold 10,000 pens in the first day of their sale.
