The Lamy 2000 was designed by Gerd A Muller for Lamy and launched in 1966 as a fully modern pen, manufactured from fully modern materials of fibreglass resin and brushed stainless steel. Over 40 years later the design is still going strong and ironically now looks a little retro. The designer was part of the "form follows function" revived post war Bauhaus school of design. His design influences can be seen in Braun shavers, Gaggenau and Olivetti appliances among other items.
