Lamy AL-Star Fountain Pen

The Al-Star, Safari and Vista pens from Lamy are all extensions of a well-proved and sturdy design. Al-Star has the body and cap in aluminium, Safari is all plastic, and Vista is clear plastic. Designed by Wolfgang Fabian for Lamy, the shape has become iconic for good form and function. The Al-Star has anodized aluminium body and cap giving a strong design that will withstand some knocking about. There is an ergonomic grip section, the body has a window so that the ink level can be seen, and there is a strong but flexible pocket clip. The stainless steel nibs on the Al-Star, as on most Lamy pens, are interchangeable. You can keep a number of grades of nib and change them yourself.
