Crafted in the Tuscan capital of Italy, Florence, Papuro has used thread and needle to stitch the finest Italian leather for the past 10 years. Papuro takes pride in its Italian Florentine craftsmanship and so to provide the finest leather Journals, we want the best from our artisans, our materials and our methods.
Choosing your Papuro Journal
Choosing a journal for its functional purposes is fairly easy, if you want an address book you just buy one. However when it comes to the aesthetic side of choosing a journal, it can become a little more difficult.
If an olden style of leather bound journal is something which takes your interest, the Roma range of Papuro journals may be to your liking. Made from heavy Italian leather with marbled edges on the paper, this book will increase in character as it increases with age. For a slightly more contemporary take on a journal, the Amalfi journal provides a wrap journal in a slightly more modern style than the Roma. Treated leather with a soft velvety texture wraps this journal available in a variety of soft colours. If you want an up to date alternative then the Torcello would be a great suggestion. Bound in a beautiful, plain and smooth Italian leather cover, these journals are display excellence in quality and value.
A Family Trade
Nestled in the enchanting capital of Florence in the Tuscany region of Italy, Papuro’s second generation family business is exemplary of Florentine craftsmanship. The world class leatherworking that cures, tans and crafts the hide into works of art is present in these journals; a quality you can hold and feel as you watch as it gains character with age. Made exclusively for us, Papuro journals are of a tailor-made quality as every journal that we receive is unique. No two pieces of leather will be identical, which adds to the hand-made beauty embodied by each of these wonderful books.

Papuro and The Online Pen Company
Here at the Online Pen Company we’re big fans of the Papuro range of notebooks. With that in mind, we stock a large selection of their range in our online store. Here are some of our favourites:
Roma - Roma journals are considered to be the great traditional wrap journal. With marbled edged pages, these notebooks are thick and chunky - especially as the paper is high quality at around 135g.
It’s acid free, plain and cream - what more could you want? The soft, leather wrap is high quality and will naturally get better as it ages. This is a great traditional journal in 4 of the most popular colours, perfect for any budding writer with a little creativity.
Amalfi - Another wrap journal - Amalfi journals, named after the beautiful coastal town in Italy - are available in many different colours. Unlike the Roma, the cover on the Amalfi is cut in a tilde style, with a leather strap to wrap the journal shut.
The paper is made from high quality, plain buttery-cream materials which are made in Italy, sticking to Papuro’s Tuscan roots. Available in small, medium and large sizes, this journal presents a beautiful traditional craftsmanship with modern colours.
Firenze- The Firenze range of journals are named after the Italian city of Florence, where the beautiful leather journals are handcrafted. Similar in style to the Milano journals, they use a leather that is much more flexible, helping it to retain its natural grain and texture.
Because of this, a beautiful grain runs across the surface of the Firenze journals, which are available in a choice of Red, Tan, Black and Chocolate finishes. With fine stitching around the edges of the cover, the Firenze is a true work of Tuscan art.
Other papuro journals available from The Online Pen Company include Ravello, Torcello, Milano and Capri.
