Bruynzeel has produced a collection of single pencils in a variety of lead grades. From soft to hard, designed to be used for use in a variety of activities including design work, technical drawings, sketching and illustrations. If you are looking for a harder pencil, then we recommend H grade, alternatively, if you are looking for a softer pencil then B grade is best suited to you. We offer B grades 2, 4 and 6, including HB. HB is a mixture of hard and soft, often used in schools.
What is the difference between lead grades?
Pencils of a harder grade are preferred amongst designers and architects as they are perfect for precise and accurate lines and drawings. They can still be used for expressive drawings, particularly ideal for creating contrasted lighter and darker areas. Soft pencils are better suited to artists who are looking to add depth and texture to their sketches, useful for shading in larger areas.
