What is it for?

The Tombow Mono 100 Graphite Pencil is an artists dream, suitable for sketching, illustration, design and fine art projects. They are traditional wooden pencils filled with high-quality graphite and are available in assorted grades.

Tips and Tricks

There are many ways to use graphite pencils to benefit your drawing styles. The most effective way is to use a mixture of lead grades to outline your project and layer different shades. We recommend using hard grades (9H to H) for adding lighter shades to your art piece. Softer grades (HB to 6B) are ideal for adding darker tones and depth to the project. It's always best to work from light to dark when working with pencils, providing you with more flexibility to make changes if you make a mistake. You can also use blending tools such as a tortillon to merge shades together. This works best on thicker papers or card stock.

Top Tip

Did you know that you can also use a paint brush for blending graphite pencil? A short bristled brush works best and helps to disguise any white areas of paper that might show through softer lead grades.
