Both the interior and exterior of these colouring pencils are highly resistant to breakage with a good colour transfer to paper. All of Bruynzeel's colouring pencils are wax based - this includes pencils designed for children as well as their range of professional quality pencils. A benefit of wax pencils is that they glide over the paper in comparison to oil based pencils, for better colour saturation and an improved final product.
