The Colour Grip range from Faber-Castell is designed to help young children with their creativity and expression. They feature patented 'Grip' technology, which aids the children to develop proper pen-holding technique, a crucial skill that they will require later in life. The pencils offer a high-quality colouring experience, suitable for use on paper, cardstock or in colouring books.
Each pencil is manufactured from FSC Approved wood, ensuring that forests are sustainable and protected. The pencils are triangular shaped and have small raised bumps to increase grip, control and comfort. They are filled with colour-rich leads, which are also water-soluble, meaning they can be brushed over with water to create watercolour effects (brush not included). This deluxe set contains thirty-six individual colours, including gold and silver! Supplied in a metal presentation storage tin.
A great technique for children to develop is the understanding of blending and layering colours. We recommend working with light colours first and then adding other colours on top to create unique styles. For example, if you colour with yellow first, you can add blue on top to create a new shade of green. Alternatively, you can use a light orange to give the yellow more depth. This basic technique enables children to understand more complex art mediums when they reach advanced art lessons in high-school.
